Cala Rambles (or Cala Sa Torreta) is an unspoiled beach of 250 meters long, located in the north of the island of Menorca. Its inlet on the coast is shell-shaped and flows into the shore with a light sandy beach that contrasts with the wild vegetation of the area.<\/p>\n
On the beach, in its more than 10 meters of sand, it is frequent the accumulation of algae so it is not the most pleasant place to lie down to sunbathe, but it is to practice water sports. Its seabed, which intertwines seaweed and sand, make it a spectacular area for snorkeling.
Cala Rambles is located in a protected area, included as part of the Natural Park of S’Albufera des Grau.<\/p>\n
It is a quite secluded cove and difficult to access (only possible on foot, by bike, or through the sea) so that, even in the summer months, it is usually practically empty.<\/p>\n
A spectacular landscape to enjoy alone.<\/p>\n

The different names associated with this cove owe the confusion to the defense tower that stands on the site and is known as Sa Torreta (but also as Torre de Rambla or Torre des Tamarells because of the places that surround it).<\/p>\n
It is a defense tower located in front of the Illa d’en Colom, in the Rambla cape that separates the coves of Sa Torreta and des Tamarells, and was built in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century by the British.<\/p>\n
This tower has never been restored and, at present, is in danger of collapse so it is not advisable to approach it, although we can visit its surroundings where there are also remains of an old building that used to be used by soldiers (who were nicknamed “dragons”) as a surveillance center to control those points that were not visible from the tower.<\/p>\n
