Not in vain is it one of the most famous of all Menorca, the one that all visitors point out in their list of essentials when traveling to the island and, if you get to it, the blue of its waters will make you fall in love and captivate you forever.<\/p>\n<p>Wrapped in not very high limestone cliffs and pine trees that reach the beach, it gives the impression that the beach is divided in two by the separation of a group of rocks that go into the seashore. The peculiarity of this beach is that you can stand on sand, rock or table, because in the pine forest there are picnic areas where you can enjoy the shade all day and eat on their wooden tables.<\/p>\n<p>Together with Cala Mitjana and Cala Macarella, these are the 3 most visited coves in Menorca. If you are heading from Ciutadella, you will take the road on the southern ring road, in the direction of the southern beaches. Once you have reached the hermitage of Sant Joan de Missa turn right, continue straight on for 4 km and turn right again on a road that will lead you to the parking lot of Playa Turqueta. There you will find a small bar and toilets to buy your snacks and drinks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Cuerpo\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">If you go by <strong>car<\/strong>, as mentioned above, you should know that in the middle of the day during the summer season it is practically impossible to park, as the parking lot is small and limited, and usually fills up quickly. It is worth getting up early to avoid problems of this type. Also, keep in mind that the sun sets quite early due to the orientation of this beach, so the earlier you go, the more hours of sunshine you will enjoy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Cuerpo\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Usually on the beach access or parking signs you will find indications about the beach occupancy, so you can change your course in time. Look carefully when you are on the road.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Cuerpo\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">You can also access the beach by taking the <strong>bus*<\/strong> (line 68) from Ciutadella. This line is only available in high season due to the influx of people heading to the southern coves.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Cuerpo\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Whether you go by car or bus, the closest access is the parking lot. This cove is the beginning and the end of one of them. If you head east you will reach Cala Galdana, a spectacular urbanized beach where you will enjoy all the services and activities possible for a spectacular day at the beach. During the tour you will pass by Cala Macarella and Cala Macarelleta, just 3 quarters of an hour walk from Cala Turqueta. If you head west, the end of the stage is Artrutx cape, crossing Cala Es Talaier and Son Saura del Sur, 5km of route with landscapes typical of the Mediterranean climate, and landscapes of turquoise waters of fine white sand.<\/p>\n<p>Another point of interest is the Atalaya de Artrutx, an old defense tower from where you can enjoy incredible views of the south of Menorca. You will find the access from Cam\u00ed de Cavalls, an uphill path to a magical place.<\/p>\n<p>Looking at the map of Cala Turqueta, you will see that around the area there are several tourist spots, apart from those mentioned above, that surround the area and that will allow you to organize a good vacation. For example, if you want to visit all the coves and beaches in the area, or do the Cam\u00ed de Cavalls route, the use of a map will be very useful.<\/p>\n<p>You will also see that it is an area full of pine trees, perfect for meals with the whole family or friends in the shade, in open spaces and without too many people. We will sail along the coast, leaving Illa del Rei to port.<\/p>\n<p>We will continue out to the open sea, leaving the Punta de Sant Carles lighthouse to starboard.<\/p>\n<p>Following the coastline in a southerly direction we will pass the outcrops of Na Girada and Punta Rafalet. We will continue skirting the island, which will take us in a SW direction and leave Punta Prima and Punta dels Marbres to starboard. At this point we will have the Illa de l&#8217;Aire on our port side.<\/p>\n<p>Following the coastline, we will head NW and ascend passing Cabo Binibeca, Illot d&#8217;en Mar\u00e7al, Cap d&#8217;en Font, Cap de ses Penyes, Illot de Binicodrell and Punta de Macarella.<\/p>\n<p>Once you have passed the latter, the next thing you will see is Punta des Tambors and, just before it, you will find the
