Ses Olles Cove

A natural fish tank

Cala de Ses Olles or Cala Fondó is a beautiful cove in the south of Menorca, which has no sand. It is made up of limestone rocks and is exposed to winds from the S-SW. Its characteristics could lead us to believe that it is an uncomfortable beach, not suitable for everyone… but nothing could be further from the truth.

On the rocks themselves are created natural platforms (more or less flat) on which to spread our towel and there are stairs that facilitate the entry and exit of the sea. The cove is protected from the E winds by the islet d’en Marçal and is quite safe to go with children as the swimming area is delimited by buoys and, in addition, access from land is quite simple.

Next to Binibeca beach, Ses Olles stands out for its sandy seabed where posidonia abounds, and the clarity of its waters that allow you to observe them in great detail. The deep turquoise color that characterizes this cove will conquer you.

The abundance of fish that swim in its waters, its sandy bottoms and the posidonia that inhabits the place, guarantees that snorkeling will not disappoint us.

If we want to know the surroundings, we can explore the vicinity and visit places like Binibèquer Vell, a kind of small village that was designed for tourist purposes by the architect Antoni Sintes Mercadal, who tried to replicate the traditional fishing villages and created a space of pure white with a myriad of intertwined alleys and narrow streets that resulted in a labyrinth of the most picturesque.

It is worthwhile to meet him in person.
