Cala’n Tosqueta

A paradise lost

In Tosqueta is an unknown cove, where calm prevails among its rock formations that lead to the crystal clear waters in whose bottoms reigns posidonia.

A lost treasure that hides in turn, several jewels of wild purity: two larger sandy beaches and at least two other small beaches that are located both on land and in the Illa d’en Tosqueta located just opposite.

Posidonia is abundant on the small beaches, but its sandy beaches are worthy of a fairy tale, with a beauty and natural purity without equal.

Cala’n Tosqueta in Menorca, how to get there?

The way to it must be done on foot and it is essential to be well prepared, because the road is long and the fatigue and heat (especially in the summer months), can play a trick on you.

To leave from Son Saura, we will have to drive from Mahón towards Fornells on the Me-7 and follow the signs that indicate the way to it.

From the parking lot, we will begin the crossing following the path that ascends to the N parallel to the coast, and that will lead us to Cala Pudent. Once there, the path becomes blurred and the adventure begins…

To reach Cala en Tosqueta we will have to continue ascending in N direction for about 5’5 km.

How to get to Cala’n Tosqueta by boat?

To reach Cala en Tosqueta by boat, we will have to leave the port of Mahón in a SE direction, leaving the dock to starboard. We will continue through the port until we reach the open sea (up to Punta de Sant Carles).

At this point, we will leave the San Carlos lighthouse to starboard, and continue to port along the coast (heading NE) where we will pass La Mola and Punta de S’Espero, to continue in a NW direction (always sailing with the coast to port).

We will pass Cap Negre, Punta de Sa Galera and, finally, Punta de sa Cudia. On the port side we will see an inlet that leads to Es Grau and in front we will have Illa d’en Colom. We will have to overcome it leaving it on the port side and we will continue in NW direction until we pass the Cap de Mossen Vives and the Escull den Tortuga. From the bow we will see the Cap de Favàritx and its unmistakable lighthouse.

Skirting the Favàritx point, we will sail in a NW direction until we see the Addaia islands. We will reach them leaving them to port and continue to Punta Grossa, which we will leave to port to continue in a NW direction.

Sailing in this position, we will see Punta Pantinat by LA PROA. To the S of this is Illa d’en Tosqueta. Located between it and Cap Negre (to the S of the previous one), we will find Cala en Tosqueta.
