Cala’n Bosch in Menorca, how to get there?

We can find it in the southwest of Menorca, just between Sa Punta de Sa Guarda and Punta Varraca d’en Capó, about 12 km from Ciutadella, in front of the urbanization Cala en Bosch.

Leaving Ciutadella, head south out of the city along the southern ring road, following the signs to Cala en Bosch. When you leave the traffic circle, continue for 12 km until you enter the urbanization, you will notice because you will see signs and indications. Take the third exit at the traffic circle, towards Cala en Bosch and go straight on. This road surrounds the urbanization so that you don’t have to enter the urban area. You must leave on the left a wide road that leads to Son Xoriguer, to see the beach and the free parking where you can leave your car. Remember to come early to avoid parking problems, as Cala en Bosch gets very crowded.

If you want to arrive by bus, line 65 with exit in Ciutadella will leave you in the urbanization. Consult the schedules as this is a line exclusive to the warmer months and may vary from year to year.

Let’s not forget the option of contemplating a boat trip either, because renting a boat in Menorca is a great plan for your vacation and if you are looking for a beach where you can anchor, you’re in the right place! Depending on the port where you rent the boat the route varies, you can ask in the office itself which route is the most suitable to get to Cala en Bosch. Your destination will be in the southwest of the island.

The sea floor of this cove and the underwater conditions are favorable for anchoring boats, as long as the weather is good. Besides, it is a very open beach so you won’t find any complications.

There is an area marked with buoys at 1.5 nautical miles where it is forbidden to drop anchor and drag, because in this area there is an underwater power line between Menorca and Mallorca. If you are from abroad and you want to rent a boat to go to Cala en Bosch, you can consult this information in the office where you do it, sure they will inform you of all the limits of the area.

On the right side you will see a narrow and elongated entrance that will lead you to an inner lagoon. There you will find a marina called Marina de Cala en Bosch. If your boat is large, you will not be able to enter it, as there is a bridge that will prevent you from doing so.
