Cala Llonga

Exclusivity at your fingertips

Cala Llonga is a small cove located on the northern shore of the port of Mahón. About 60 meters long and approximately 10 meters wide, Cala Llonga is not a cove for bathers, but an area for mooring boats.

It is known mainly for the urbanization to which it gives its name, and is considered one of the most exclusive areas of the island of Menorca and the most prestigious of Mahón.

Thanks to its incredible location, its residents can enjoy exceptional views of the Isla del Rey, Mahón or Es Castell, and on the horizon the picturesque view of the traditional Minorcan houses accumulates. Its southwest orientation guarantees natural sunlight all day long; and its privileged location makes it only 5 minutes from the center of Mahón and very close to the beaches of Es Grau and Cala Mesquida.

Cala Llonga: the cove of celebrities

The urbanization of Cala Llonga is managed by the residents’ association, which is responsible for its care and conservation and, due to its good condition, its privileged location, its charming atmosphere and the presence of some of the most luxurious homes in Menorca, it is not surprising that this is the place chosen by many celebrities as accommodation during their stay on the island.

Cala Llonga in Menorca, how to get there?

One of the easiest ways to reach Cala Llonga is by road.

To do so, if we leave from Mahón, we will go to the Ronde de Maó. At the traffic circle take the second exit onto the Me-3. Continue on the Me-3 until you find the signs to Carrer de la Goleta and then turn right onto Carrer dels Vapors until you reach the traffic circle that indicates, at the first exit, the detour to Passeig des Mariners.

If we had planned to reach it by public transport we may have to look for alternatives, as this is not the best option to visit this cove. Although there are lines whose route passes near Cala Llonga (such as lines 01, 03. 10, 31, 92 and 93)*, none of them stop specifically in the area.

What does Cala Llonga offer us?

The exclusivity, privacy and tranquility that this area of the island boasts, is reflected in a very residential environment in which, nevertheless, there is a varied offer of activities to enjoy.

There is the possibility of renting pontoons in the cove itself or hiring water cabs that will allow you to move from Cala Llonga to the other side of the port, or to go to Cales Fonts, where you can enjoy its terraces, its varied gastronomic offer, its craft markets and its beautiful sunsets.
The lively bustle of its streets is the perfect counterpoint to the residential tranquility that Cala Llonga offers.
